A collapsed car port and massive rear deck failure was the driving force for this client to contact MASTRIDICASA Architecture + Design.

Just off the road, and downslope of the punishing snow and plow detritus, this project posed many challenges.

​

The best clients tell you straight away whether or not you're meeting their expectations. After a thorough brief, the design development was underway. First option - a resounding "no" from the client. Second option - same answer. Third option - same answer. Clearing the board, taking a walk, and starting over for the fourth time - a resounding "yes, that's EXACTLY what we were envisioning!"

Carefully designing the two car garage, mudroom and master en-suite to blend seamlessly with the existing residence, massive 16" roof joists were used to carry the 400+ pound snow load this address endures. Pushing the limits of the front yard setback and the resulting grading requirements, MASTRIDICASA worked closely with the town engineering department to arrive at a solution everyone could live with.
